I recommend Michael Lynch.
I hired Michael more than three years ago.
Michael handled my criminal defense matter.
I have previously worked with one to two lawyers.

Client Review:

"Michael was very, very thorough in asking me all the appropriate questions to bring my entire case into focus. In court, he challenged the DA with vigor and did not hesitate to bring inconsistencies to the attention of the judge. Behind chambers, Michael was able to skillfully negotiate a reasonable conclusion with the judge such that the DA was forced to accept the terms, if I accepted the terms... which I did...... which kept me out of the trial and we arrived at a conclusion of no admission of guilt......... Hooray!! Michael Lynch is the real deal."

Client Review:

"I found Michael through the Lawyer Referral Service of Sonoma County. He did not hesitate to work with me at a very affordable rate as I was in between jobs at the time. After hearing my situation, he began to formulate how best to approach my case and after I agreed to use his services we began our plan of action.

Sample Cases

One case which stands out was a domestic violence matter with serious bodily injury. My client was facing a maximum exposure of four years in prison. My client had just purchased the first home he and his children had ever known. With the cooperation of the court, the district attorney's office, the victim, and my client, and due to the unique circumstances of the case, we were able to work out a plea where my client was placed on probation and did thirty days home confinement. He was able to keep up with the mortgage payments and keep his home.

Another nice success story revolves around a DUI matter. A client of mine was arrested for DUI while on vacation in Sonoma County. With the help of the court, the local volunteer center, and the DA's office, justice was achieved while protecting the rights and interests of an out-of-state visitor. My client was allowed to complete 50 hours of volunteer work in her hometown, instead of making a separate trip back to Sonoma County to serve what would have been the required jail time.

The first goal is always a dismissal. In one case my client was accused of vandalism. After a complete investigation, I was able to get a declaration verifying the damage was done months before the complaint.

If you can't achieve a dismissal, it is important to make sure the penalty matches the situation. In one case, while the elements of the crime could be proven, the situation which leads to the charges were explored, developed, and presented. As a result a solution was crafted in which my client aided in the education of others in an effort to prevent them from making the same mistake of law without any need for jail.

Even if jail is part of the sentence there are many alternatives to serving time. In many cases I have made arrangements for the client to complete volunteer service instead of serving time. In other cases home confinement was allowed to enable the client to care for their children. In many other cases, both pre-charging and post filing diversion programs were utilized to resolve the matter.

In civil matters the goal is to provide personalized service while attempting to keep costs as low as possible.
